Mac And Cheese Ice Cream Is A Thing!

We've gotten pretty used to a world full of unhinged ice cream flavors. Sure, you might prefer chocolate or strawberry, but if you see an ice cream full of Sour Patch Kids or olive oil and balsamic, you probably don't bat too many eyelashes. But, when author Chuck Wendig recently tried mac and cheese-flavored ice cream, people were on the edge of their seats to see what it was all about.
Chuck posted a photo of the sign for mac and cheese ice cream with the simple caption "this is ice cream annnnnnd should I try it?" The answer was a resounding "Um, duh!" and luckily he documented the whole thing.
Ultimately, he called the whole thing a "mistake," and it turns out it had little do with the fact that cheese-flavored ice cream sounds awful.
"The base is amazing. Sweet-but-normally-savory-cheese is a real damn thing and I support it. But. BUT," he wrote, you "cannot freeze pasta."
I recently tried ice cream with Cheetos dust on top and can confirm, cheese and ice cream not so bad but uh, pasta? Have you ever gotten gummy bears on top of frozen yogurt before? Those little guys get hard enough, so I can't IMAGINE pasta.
If you're feeling particularly like being a glutton for punishment, Chuck said he spotted the ice cream at Owowcow in Pennsylvania, where I know for a fact they have normal and delicious flavors as well.
This is an important lessons that pasta should come first and should always be *followed* by ice cream—not combined with it.
